Two BETSRG Students Awarded Prestigious Wentz Research Grants
Patrick Steichen and Colton Tubbs were recently awarded the prestigious Wentz Research Grant, awarded by the Lew Wentz Foundation. These grants are awarded annually to approximately forty undergraduate students across the university to perform independent research under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
Both Patrick and Colton will be working with Dr. Bradshaw on research related to next-generation compressor technology.
Patrick’s project, titled “Impact of Low-Global Warming Potential Refrigerants on Compressor Efficiency”, will experimentally characterize various compressor technologies with low-GWP refrigerants.
Colton’s project, titled “Computational Modeling of a Novel Peristaltic Compressor for HVAC&R Applications” will investigate a novel type of compressor applied to HVAC&R applications.
