Dr. Bradshaw is awarded the ASHRAE Innovative Research Grant

Date: July, 24th, 2018
Dr. Craig Bradshaw has been awarded the ASHRAE Innovative Research Grant (IRG) for his proposal titled “Development of a Novel Peristaltic Compressor for Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Applications”.
This type of compressor has the potential to operate with lower leakage and higher thermodynamic efficiency than current state-of-the-art compressors. The 30 month award will allow Dr. Bradshaw to develop a thermodynamic model and build a re-configurable bench prototype to explore this type of compressor applied to air-conditioning and refrigeration applications.
The ASHRAE IRG Program is designed to fund research that does not specifically fit into the current ASHRAE research agenda but may have the potential to significantly advance the state-of-the-art by encouraging out-of-the-box research.
